New Roof Protection System

For a while now we've been looking into a passive system to protect volunteers who work on roofs. Every system that we could find involved wearing harnesses and safety tethers, which we found to be too clumsy for our purpose.

We have found our solution in a a brand new product called Horizontal Undereave Guard System (HUGS) is really amazingly simple and is completely passive. We have ordered a HUGS system and will begin using it on the next house we frame.

You can see the HUGS system on their website: http://www.hugsafety.com/

I thought fall protection had been forgotten.

This looks interesting!

I just got to see the "Huggy" system installed. While it takes a lot of work to get it set up, I felt much more comfortable working around the edge of the roof. I was able to be much more productive with the new system in place.
A few folks spoke disparigingly about the system. For the most part, however, those were the folks that prefer to work from the ground anyway.

Thanks!!
